Biography

Arnaud Guichard is a multifaceted award winning saxophonist and composer based in Brussels. He moved to London from 2013 to 2019. Living in the UK brought him fruitful artistic collaborations with the renowned musicians Moses Boyd, Nubya Garcia, Theon Cross, Poppy Ajudha, Oscar Laurence, Jake Long, Zoe Rahman, Mark Lockheart, Simon Purcell, Mick Foster, Dave Wickins while leading his own project Serendip Quartet.

Arnaud is the leader and composer of Serendip Quartet. The project uses the essence of program music by using musical narratives to inspire the repertoire. Their first album is inspired by the ancient Persian tale ‘The Three Princes of Serendip’ and was released in Spring 2018 at the famous Total Refreshment Centre. The record is well received in the UK and Europe. It is played on BBC radio, Jazz FM and received great written critiques in newspapers and online platforms. The band received the Sabam Prize For Culture at the B Jazz International Contest 2019 in Belgium and is set to release their second record in Spring 2021.

Arnaud studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance where he was awarded the Jon Hassal Prize for Jazz in 2015 before graduating in 2016. After graduating Arnaud was asked to lead a monthly residency at Jazz Live at The Crypt in South-East London where he encourages the finest young musicians in the community to perform and experiment with new ideas.
