Jesús Nunez - Syos

Jesús Nunez

It is a real pleasure to be able to play with a modern mouthpiece with a sound and possibilities that even surpass those of any vintage mouthpiece. My SYOS mouthpiece is all I ever needed: innovation, modernity and comfort without giving up the sound I was looking for.

Biography

Born in San Fernando, Cádiz, Jesús began his musical studies at an early age, obtaining a university level degree in classical saxophone at the Granada Conservatory of Music in 2012 under the tutelage of the Andalusian saxophonist Rogelio Gil.

At the end of his studies at the conservatory, he began to explore jazz and attended various seminars by Perico Sambeat, Ernesto Aurignac, Iván "Melón" Lewis and Jerry Bergonzi. In 2020 he finished his musical studies at the Valencia Conservatory, this time receiving a jazz degree under the tutelage of professors such as Jeff Jerolamon, Toni Belenguer, Voro García and Ramón Cardo. Parallel to his academic training, he also studied privately with Valencian saxophonist Javier Vercher.

At present, Jesús continues with his own development as a musician as well as being active as a teacher. He also is immersed in projects of various magnitudes such as the new quartet of the great American drummer Jeff Jerolamon with which he performs regularly and can be heard on the album Firm Roots.
