Words from the artist

Byron Asher

This is a beautiful mouthpiece that projects the way I need with supreme control across the horn. I can get a full, round sound, even in the upper register, and I can play sensitively with ease. Everything about this piece makes playing the bass clarinet better for me.

Byron Asher is a clarinetist, saxophonist and composer from New Orleans, born in Maryland. He performs throughout Europe and the United States at major jazz festivals and venues. As a composer, Byron is endorsed by renowned organizations such as the Jazz and Heritage Foundation, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts and the Puffin Foundation. An adjunct professor of music at the University of New Orleans, he leads the award-winning great ensemble Scrontch Music and is one third of Nutria, a trio dedicated to instrumental music named after the iconic Louisiana coypu.
