Arrington de Dionyso
My Syos is without a doubt going to be the loudest thing you have ever heard from a bass clarinet - for the first time, you will be able to match the volume of a tenor sax without sacrificing any of the strength and consistency of tone in any register. This mouthpiece is ESSENTIAL if you're playing in a more "rock" or experimental context, when you need the ability to cut through above drums, guitars, and electronic instruments. I also don't want to imply at all that it isn't versatile, either- this mouthpiece has a very wide dynamic range, and is fully capable of getting deep into the more "intimate" sounds as well!
Over the last 25 years leading bands such as Old Time Relijun, Malaikat dan Singa, and This Saxophone Kills Fascists, Arrington de Dionyso has practically reinvented the bass clarinet as a "Rock" instrument. His solos tend towards the aggressive, propulsive, gestural approaches preferring a distinctive raspy growl in his tone color that utilizes a wide variety of overblowing, alternate fingerings, and other extended techniques that emphasize the connections between the bass clarinet and the primal voice.
