"Very round and warm"
I love the tone! Very round and warm but also with the ability to cut through.
It’s got a great tone. And great altissimo.
Soft, pleasant and somewhat dark. Fixed my perpetual intonation on the soprano. For once, I’m playing in tune!
My Syos mouthpiece easily plays from top to bottom without getting squeaky or bright. It takes a lot of air without hitting a ceiling.
Dayna Stephens is a critically acclaimed American jazz player, celebrated as the 2017 "Rising Star in Tenor saxophone" by DownBeat magazine. We really like how Brad Faberman, from JazzTimes, describes Dayna's sound: "His big, warm lines are full of notes and intent but also gusts of wind, bodies of water". There is a beautiful darkness in his sound which will pull you in after the very first note…
