Marshall McDonald, 35 year veteran of the New York Jazz Scene, is a 5 time Grammy Nominated saxophonist including a Grammy Award in the Latin Jazz category. Marshall is best recognized for his over 20 year association on Lead Alto with The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra. Known for his multi-reed abilities he currently plays baritone sax with Abdullah Ibrahim and Ekaya. He has played with Tony Bennett, Freddie Hubbard, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Illinois Jacquet, Charli Persip, Bobby Caldwell, The Temptations, The Four Tops and Aretha Franklin amongst others.
