What ligature for my new Syos?
Words from the artist
Yosuke Sato
This mouthpiece taught me how my sax's tone is supposed to be and gave me inspiration to create new music.
Yosuke Sato was born in Tokyo, Japan. He moved to New York in 2008, and was invited by trumpeter Melvin Vines to join his band, the Harlem Jazz Machine, as a saxophonist. The group performed at the legendary St. Nic's Pub, a historic New York jazz venue, until it closed. Melvin then introduced Yosuke to Gregory Porter, who hired him as a member of the Gregory Porter Quartet. The group played weekly at Smoke, one of the most popular jazz clubs in Manhattan. They then begin an international tour. Gregory Porter's second album, Be Good, was nominated for a Grammy, and his third, Liquid Spirit, won one in the "Best Jazz Vocal Album of the year" category in 2014. Take Me to the Alley, Gregory Porter's fourth album in which he performs, wins a Grammy in the same category giving Sato his second Grammy.
